Welcome to the new Southampton Food!

When I started the Southampton Food Stories Instagram in 2022, I never expected it would grow as much as it has. I was a single guy in Southampton, going out to restaurants frequently, thinking 'I wish there was a place to share these incredible food finds'. Jaded by the usual cynical comments of 'There are no good restaurants in Southampton', I made it my mission to share places I truly recommend.

Now we're a page reaching over 20,000 people a month with nearly 100 reviews, it felt like the next step to make it official by turning it into a company, so I'm proud to announce we are now Southampton Food Ltd!

Southampton Food Ltd is the culmination of 3 years of loving food in the city, exploring new spots and sharing our independent thoughts on our fave places. Our reviews cannot be bought, and trust me, we've been to some places that we've been invited to, or have been recommended to us, that haven't quite hit the mark. If it's bad, we won't post about it!

Our new logo, inspired by the colours of the city (Red and White), with the Hampshire rose prominently behind it all. A blend of modern design and rich heritage (our early concepts for this logo even included the Bargate!)

We've even managed to refresh how our posts will look, with clear banners and icons showing the type of post. One of the things that annoys me is food bloggers who post pictures that look amazing, you go to check where they're from, and they either don't tell you or you find out it's in a whole other city (or sometimes even other countries!)

You'll now see a clear rosemark with an icon detailing exactly what kind of post it is, you'll even be able to tell from the colour of the banner on our posts (black being Southampton, White being travel and grey being our roast series!)

Being a company now means we can start thinking big picture too...We're thinking events showcasing Southampton's food scene, food tours, maybe even merchandise... Who knows, we might even open up our own restaurant in future!
